The Change

Over the years I have shot many different types of photo sessions.  But times change and people grow.  I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and I have decided that I need to continue to grow as a photographer.  I have lots of ideas, but my latest one is probably one of my biggest and possibly most difficult to pull off.

It isn’t about finances or about building elaborate sets or anything like that.  It is about authenticity and patience.  It is about exploring an idea in ways I never have before.  Much of my work is about one shoot, one idea and one concept.  This new project is to be spread out over time.  Many sessions and it is to be explored from all angles.  This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, but I feel as though now is the time to begin.

I’ve only had one photo shoot this year, of course we are only into February, but for me this is not a lot of shooting.  I’ve been taking things very slowly and moving with purpose.  This is the way I like to do things these days.  Everything with purpose and intention.  It is a slower process, and I am having to remind myself of why I am doing this, but I do believe that with time this will all make me better at what I do and will just be a better way to perform as an artist in all aspects of my works.

I will begin my new project very soon, I will be selecting my subject very soon.  I will also be photographing other subjects, everything from models to weddings to landscapes and other subject matter.  Basically my exploration will continue.  For now, here are some samples from my latest shoot.  This was for an art project I’m working on and to test some new ideas.  A little random, but that kind of goes with my current mood.
